Learn more about Bear Mountain
Pros
- Home to Southern California’s only Superpipe!
- Take on the 2 mi Geronimo trail for a double black diamond leg burner
- The lift pass covers you to ski at nearby Snow Summit too
Cons
- Not the best mountain for traditional downhill skiers or families
Overall
If you want to ride park, Bear Mountain is the place. There's not a lot of steep terrain but the entire mountain is a terrain park and is snowboarder-heavy. It was even ranked number 2 in Transworld Snowboarding 2017 Park Poll. Nearby Big Bear Lake and Big Bear City offer an array of lodging, restaurants, and nightlife. Best of all, you can ski nearby Snow Summit on the same pass and you'd be hoping were born in winter because they give you a free lift ticket on your birthday!

Easy access from l.A.. Great mountain to practice you're park skills. And if you just want to cruise and throw down some high speed "S" turns head up to Jeronimo. You won't be disappointed. ... Moreadvanced snowboarder

Great place for Southern California skier/snowboarders to go as they do not have to fly or drive far for decent slopes. Also the town has several local restaurants and bars that can suffice for many different tastes.... Moreintermediate skier

Great place for beginner to intermediate skiers. No slopes that are extremely difficult. We went right after they had gotten a huge storm, so the snow was good. The town has a good deal of restaurants and a nice Main Street area. Great for the Southern California skier/snowboarder to go without having to fly or drive a long way!... Moreintermediate skier

Big Bear is a fun time for the young family that likes to be active together. Big Bear is very accessible from the LA and greater Los Angeles areas. Its about a 2hr drive from Orange county.... Moreadvanced snowboarder

Way too over crowded but it's the closest and easiest resort to get to from San Diego and Los Angeles which means everyone in SoCal goes there making lift lines ridiculously long and very crowded trails from lack of available terrain... Moreexpert skier

The place was a great stay. For the most part everything was smoothly run, the staff was friendly and the mountain was in good shape. We were fortunate to have some snow fall and it was nicely prepared each day of riding. Would definitely go back for sure great stay... Moreadvanced snowboarder

Always a great time at bear. Even better after a storm rolls through. The mountain crew does a great job tending to all of the jumps and jobs throughout the mountain.... Moreintermediate snowboarder

I love the resort but it can be a bit expensive. Even for the season pass. Everyone loves skiing but not everyone can afford it. Season pass should be cheaper for California residents... Moreadvanced snowboarder
