La Parva is where the local extreme skiers like to go. Its La Chimenea is legendary and, along with the Zona de Freeskiing, give it a reputation as an expert’s paradise. The cozy village is popular with Santiago’s wealthy set, and staying there can make for an exclusive experience – but the resort is also linked to the Tres Valles resorts and easy trip from Farellones where there is more affordable lodging.

For beginners
While there is more suitable beginner terrain at neighboring El Colorado and Valle Nevado, La Parva does have some mellow slopes for learners. Most of the beginner terrain is at the Manzanito area near the base. Autopista del Sol is the only mid-mountain beginner run here and our favorite green run here, though it requires traversing from the Alpha lift to the Las Águilas to get there.
For intermediates
Intermediates are spoilt at La Parva as the resort offers up some of the best intermediate terrains in the Tres Valles. Intermediate trails can be found across the mountain with a few groomed runs and multiple blue runs off lifts such as Tórtolas, Franciscano, and Piuquenes. Snowboarders should avoid the traverses here if you're not up for it.
For experts
La Parva serves up some great steep slopes for advanced/expert skiers and snowboarders which sees ski teams around the world coming here to train. Inbounds, the best runs are off the Las Vegas lift including Vegas Norte, Vegas, and Vegas Sur. The Manantiales run on the west side and the off-piste adventures off of it are also a fun challenge. Our top pick for advanced/experts though is the famous Chimenea areas where the terrifying couloir and 50-degree entrance is bound to get hearts racing.
Find freshies
The best freshies can be found off-piste and in the backcountry areas, though just note the resort is prone to high winds and tons of sunny days which can affect the quality of the snow.
Ditch the crowds
Avoid visiting La Parva during the middle two weeks of July when the winter school holidays bring in flocks of local crowds.
Non skiers
Non-skiers might be disappointed with the lack of off-slope activities here at La Parva. However, there are a few fun events during peak season such as torch ski parades and wine tasting. Head over to Farellones for winter activities such as tubing, snow biking and sledding.
Families
Families with beginner skiers or riders might find neighboring Valle Nevado or El Colorado more suitable for their needs. However families who have a bit more experience will enjoy the slopes of La Parva, plus they have ski-in/ski-out and close to the lifts apartments making it convenient to access the slopes.
