Snowflake is the ski Tinder app

Looking to meet new ski buddies? Tired of skiing solo? Here's Snowflake – like Tinder for skiers and riders, though more platonic and powder seeking. Snowflake is a location-based app designed to help you find like-minded ski and snowboard friends. Its not really a dating app, unless you go to the Singles Line section.

This cool – literally- ski befriending app is the brainchild of a snowboard instructor from Okemo Mountain Resort. Catherine Marston dreamt up her meet-up in the mountains mobile app while daydreaming of winter in the snowflake-less months. Catherine is a champ, a USASA snowboard cross competitor, so we have no doubt her clever ski app that won bids from Kickstarter will kick up the ski app market.

Snowflake launches December 2015, interested skiers and riders should sign up for free to be listed. Like similar apps, you post to your Snowflake profile your photo, your home ski resort, your skiing ability and trail or terrain park preference. Snap, that's the Snowflake app, and you're on your way to new vertical venues and peeps to hit the slopes with.

You can also post that you want to improve your ski technique in the moguls or glades, or offer instruction to single snow bunnies or provide a tour to a newbie at your home ski resort, even find a backcountry buddy – so you don't ski O.B. solo. Snowflake could be just the ticket if you have powder flu and extra seats in your SUV to fill with similarly SICK individuals. Can you say mobile midweek mountain buddy?

Snowflake also promises to hook you up with après ski specials at bars, breweries, plus deals on gear at local ski shops, and lift tickets promos. Snowflake will have a section dedicated to the best après ski and local spots, with comments.
