  • Limited advanced terrain

Overall

4.4

A smallish yet epic ski resort in Hokkaido, Kiroro gets tons of famous Japow making the backcountry an absolute haven for powderhounds and the highlight of the resort. The off-piste area is roped off, but if you'll do anything to ride through deep powder then complete the appropriate forms at the lift office, enter through the gates, shred away and check back in at the end of the day. For snowboarders, be sure you're waxed well as it's a bit flatter than nearby resorts.

Nice resort, good ski area with loads of snow and plenary choice for all levels. Very good area management, particularly in terms of back country access and safety. A good selection of terrain and runs.... More

Every time I've been to Kiroro, the conditions were amazing. I don't know if it was pure luck, or the mountain is just perfectly tucked away in a spot perfect for winter activities. The lift lines are never long, and if they are, they are super fast. I've been to resorts in Colorado, New Mexico, Australia, and Japan. Kiroro is my favorite. I'm... More

I first went to Kiroro two years after it opened and had just about the most memorable boarding experience there. Travelling through Hokkaido, stopping at different resorts every day for almost two weeks, My buddies and I wanted to spend more than just an extra day at this place. The facilities were/ are exceptional, food and facilities are more... More

Kiroro Resort is a gem, it is located in the Golden triangle of Sapporo, Chitose Air Port and Otaru. Meaning it takes only 45men to an hour to get to anyone of those locations. The resort is in progressive development so for those of us who would like to invest in a piece of our own Resort mountain, this is the place!... More

Deepest pow I've ever ridden. The terrain was amazing but the best riding was done in the backcountry. If your only there for a short time I highly recommend getting a guide to get the most out of your trip ... More

Kiroro is a top notch resort. It has state of the art facilities, and lift tickets arent even expensive. It is only about an hour and a half from Sapporo, and has some of the best (and most reliable) powder skiing in the world! The only downside: it could use a few more pistes. ... More

Kiroro is an awesome resort. It has some of the most powder of any resort, and has amazing facilities on top of it all! The slopes themselbes are alright, though they could definitely use a few more. The premium powder zone is great to ski through. The resort is very accessible from sapporo, but it does not have much to do aside from ski, so it may... More

A smaller resort in Hokkaido, Kiroro still delivers nice pow without the crowds. The japs tend to stay in the boundary ropes so just duck under one and you'll have freshies for days. Being this area it does tend to get put on wind hold a bit more often. The Sheraton at Kiroro has older rooms and the onsen isn't as great but it's good value for... More

Brilliant little resort on Hokkaido, whilst there is a modest on-piste selection you do need to be careful as some of the runs end up in a long flat valley (looking at you snowboarders). Other than that there is a lot of potential if you are willing to make a short hike and massive potential if you are keen for a full on tour. There are a few faces... More
