Overall
Grand Targhee gets little fanfare or fame, but it should – for its frequent powder, fantastic Teton scenery, and friendly people. Targhee opened for skiing in 1969, just three years after nearby Jackson Hole – an hour’s drive away. Grand Targhee, or 'the Ghee' affectionately labeled by locals, is one of the smallest big ski resorts, with 2,602 ac of wide-open terrain and plentiful snow- over 500 in annually, but no fancy resort hotels at the base. Did we mention Wyoming's only cat skiing? 602 ac of powder skiing reached by snow cat.

For being such a great place to ski there is always a hill to ski by your self. For being such a popular area it still has room for everyone to breath.Superb!5 / 5May 12, 2012

When no one else has snow, it always seems that Grand Targhee has snow, and plenty of it. It is an easy resort to ski for everyone that goes.Superb!5 / 5May 04, 2008

The drive in. They get more snow than the local slopes (Pebble Creek). It's very friendly and laid back.Superb!5 / 5Jun 01, 2005

Grand Targhee has got to be one of the most beautiful resorts in America. It is nestled up in the mountains on the border of Idaho and Wyoming. I love this resort not just because of it's beauty but the runs are outstanding and when you are skiing there, you are away from the world. Skiing at Targhee isn't skiing, it is Heaven.
