Pros
  • Mid-mountian village with heaps of ski in ski out options
  • Terrain is perfect for intermediate and advanced skiers/ snowboarders
  • Great value and easily accessible
Cons
  • Slightly less snowfall than Big White

Overall

4.7

With a colorful village, true slopeside lodging, and affordable prices, Silver Star is a fantastic family-friendly resort with a great mix of terrain suitable for all levels. While experts might find more challenging terrain elsewhere, the solid advanced runs here will keep most happy. The majority of runs within the 3,000 ac of terrain here sit below the tree line which means they are well protected for when the weather turns and generally holds snow better than higher more exposed resorts.

Silver Star is a great family resort with lots to offer. Snow is always good and lots of dining and accomodation options! I don't much recommend it for beginners as there are alot of flat stretches that can be hard to get across if you're new.... More

Nice little mountain for everyone! The runs are so well surrounded by the pine trees, it feels like no one is around. The park is so well organised it feels safe and free to use it! The lifts are a little bit complicated to figure out on the map if you're not used to dicypher them : if you go too low on the mountain, you'll have to take the chair... More

Say Yes to loads of snow, ski in ski out, no crowds, local manners & characters. To ploughing down summits & valleys, alone. Say yes to sneaky terrain, glades, steeps n deeps n rockstar corduroy. Say yes to local community & the next gen of grommy skiers. Say no to McSkiing. Say yes to SilverStar!... More

My family and I were at Silver Star for spring break this year. The conditions were great, the second day had around a foot of fresh. The last day the sun came out and softened up what little ice patches there was. It was a great trip and we would recommend it as a good family friendly hill.... More

I'm going to be staying in Vernon over the winter and used the opening day as an opportunity to check out the mountain. The skiing is great fun with some lovely longish runs, really looking forward to when there's more snow.... More

Silver star is a great year round resort for families and the solo adventurer. Me and my kids took advantage of the cheap nights to see if it was something we would be into doing as a family and loved it. We now all have gear and took advantage again of silver stars great early bird season pass pricing as well as early bird lesson pricing.... More

Silver Star has amazing terrain, with an excellent mix of long groomers on the backside and trees on the front side. Feel on the mountain is more of a local, small town vibe in comparison to other nearby hills that attract more tourists and families.... More
