Overall

4.5

Located in the San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado, Purgatory is a super friendly south western ski resort, perfect for families and folks that want a genuine kicked-back Colorado ski vacation. Purgatory offers a convenient well-planned ski base with a small pedestrian village and great lodging just steps from the slopes. Durango Colorado offers plenty to do besides skiing - but the skiing on Purgatory is so pleasing - you may not need any other diversions.

Visited Purgatory resort March 2017. Was my first time skiing so I rented my gear from them and they were very helpful. The mountain itself has plenty of green slopes for a beginner to shred. Would definitely recommend!

Purgatory ski resort,a short 25 minute drive North if Durango CO is absolutely amazing. Great trails, shirt lift lines, quick lift rides, a variety of areas all with separate lifts makes this a great place to ski or ride. Super friendly locals. And Durango is an absolutely awesome town as well. I skiied Purgatory and Telluride last Christmas and I... More

Purgatory is where I've gone the most # of times & it's always a blast. There are many others I'd like to go to, but this one's close enough to drive to & snow conditions are usually good. Terrain is versatile for all levels of skiers.

While not a huge resort, Purgatory offers great advanced intermediate skiing on varied terrain with a back drop of breath taking beauty.

Close proximity to Phoenix for driving. Durango is a nearby town to go to while at resort. Laid back feel. San Jaun Mountains
