Overall

4.5

Located in the San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado, Purgatory is a super friendly south western ski resort, perfect for families and folks that want a genuine kicked-back Colorado ski vacation. Purgatory offers a convenient well-planned ski base with a small pedestrian village and great lodging just steps from the slopes. Durango Colorado offers plenty to do besides skiing - but the skiing on Purgatory is so pleasing - you may not need any other diversions.

Have an excellent adaptive ski program and don't have to drive up a mountain to get to the resort. Friendly staff also. Some interesting dining experiences in town also.

Mainly chose Purgatory because it was easy to get to by car and offered family oriented environment. Also, the cost was less than other resorts we had been to in the past.
