Montana is not on everyone's ski bucket list, but it's growing. Most people think of Montana for fly-fishing, bison chasing, bighorn sheep-spotting, ranches and road trips to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. Part of us wants to keep the secret of how sensational the skiing is at Big Sky. It is truly one of our favorite western ski destinations.

I've stayed at that resort once back in 2004. As a native of the southernmost part of Texas, I can really ski very well, especially on the bunny slopes. Skiing is my favorite sport to perform.

Big Sky is one of my favorite mountains in the United States. From its family friendly environment to scenic views it makes everyone feel welcome. It has short lift lines with great groomers or head to the top of the mountain for great bowls and chutes.

Love Big Sky. Of all my travels, Big Sky is the best skiing I've ever had in one place. Seemed like I got fresh tracks every run. And where else can you get a bison cheeseburger for lunch?!

This resort has the best snow conditions with the shortest lines! It's instantly back up the mountain once you reach the bottom. There are long runs, even for beginners. In three words, more ride time! But no need to tell anyone about it because I'd like to keep those lines non-existent!

Very extensive area with terrain for all levels. Although this is often stated in promotional brochures, it is true for Big Sky.

The variety of trails available for the different levels of skill, along with the smaller crowds, makes Big Sky a great family destination.

Lots of quad chairs to choose from and no lift lines. Remote and lovely. Hope to return soon.

Best skiing of the resorts I have visited. I visited Jackson Hole this year but liked Big Sky more.
