Overall
Montana is not on everyone's ski bucket list, but it's growing. Most people think of Montana for fly-fishing, bison chasing, bighorn sheep-spotting, ranches and road trips to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. Part of us wants to keep the secret of how sensational the skiing is at Big Sky. It is truly one of our favorite western ski destinations.

Big sky was one of the best resorts I have ever been to. It’s comparable to Vail and Snowmass, but without the lines and it’s cheaper. Pulse there is a wide variety of terrain. You could easily spend a week skiing there.... Moreadvanced skier

Definitely love skiing the bowls. My husband and daughter love “the Big”. Not much going on in the ski village, could definitely use more shops and restaurants. It’s another staple ski destination for us.... Moreadvanced skier

Best snowboarding I've ever experienced. Massive ski area. Great glades. So much variety, you need at least 7 days to try every run. Unbelievable snow conditions. No lines! I'm coming back...... Moreadvanced snowboarder

The best pow and the best views. For how big this resort is you def get your money’s worth. It was one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever had. Get out there early and you can even see traces of wild life from th evening before. Breath taking. Boarding in the clouds is an understatement.... Moreadvanced snowboarder

Big white is what I think of as a smaller less crowded Whistler. It has the village and restaurants And it’s close to Kelona. But it was less crowded lots of untracked powder very good riding and enjoyed my time there.... Moreadvanced snowboarder

Big Sky is full, I hear Vail is nice. Most fun ski resort I've even been to, great for advanced skiers and riders. The only cons are it's far away and the apres scene is lacking but why bother when you can chill and rest your legs to hit the awesome mountain in the morning!... Moreadvanced snowboarder

Great snow great resort , good lodging , on week days not very crowded so will get plenty of powder runs with steep train. The steeper backcountry stuff takes 3 lift rides but well worth it.... Moreadvanced snowboarder
