Pros

  • Fewer crowds compared to other Vermont resorts
  • There is a huge indoor water park, climbing gym and ice skating arena
Cons
  • Unfortunately, there’s no nightlife or real town nearby

Overall

3.9

We hadn’t skied Jay Peak in over a decade so we decided to make a detour to check out the northern Vermont snow stash of Jay. Arriving at the resort, we were blown away by the dominant Hotel Jay all light up like a luxe alpine hotel, with the gigantic glass water park attached. From the lobby to the 5th-floor suites, Hotel Jay is posh, playful and perfectly poised to Jay's legendary tram and lifts.

Jay is amazing. Tons of trails tons of glades. The view when you get off the tram at the top is breathtaking. It’s some of the best snowboarding on the east coast. I’m a huge glades rider and even the easier glades at the middle towards the bottom of the mountain are amazing. Over all, it’s got a little something for everyone.... More

Although Jay Peak can be wicked windy and cold, it’s hard to beat the amount of snow they get! Ullr’s dream is a great trail! There is a water park and ice skating rink in case it’s too windy or the kids need some down times.... More

By far my favorite mountain I’ve ridden in the east, Great snow, great fun, pretty much all trees. The face chutes are an excellent time and from top to bottom, the place has thrill... More

Jay peak is a pleasure paradise for any intermediate or advanced skier. The glades here are unparalleled anywhere else in the east and are arguably some of the best the east coast has to offer. The glades may be Jay's signature trademark. What vertical Jay may lack, is made up for in actual snowfall, their aren't very many other resorts in the area... More

Jay peak was one of the best experiences I have had in snowsports. The glades and heavy variety of slopes were a nice change from the normal slopes I am used to normally snowboarding in Virginia and West Virginia... More

Jay peak offers some of the best skiing on the east coast. If you love akiing the glades and steeps you will love this place. The only downside is the gondola is the only lift to the peak. So plan to wait in a longer line and you need to ski to the bottom to regain access back to the peak. Snow is always great and the mountain is a blast.... More

More snow than the west coast, need I say more? Literally the best tree/off-piste skiing on the east. Real terrain labeled the right way (black means black here) and all the accommodations one could ask for. Get on the tram and head for the face chutes or take the the Jet triple and go to stateside glades or Timbuktu and find the fresh stuff all... More

This resort really cares about the skiers. Their lifts are fast and efficient, and I've never had a long wait at the bottom. Food prices are fair and the variety of terrain will keep anyone interested.... More
